If you're going to Managua, stay at La Pyramide. The owner and staff offer great service and guests are treated like family. Seriously, at dinner I felt like a long lost cousin! The food was delicious, the rooms were comfortable, and the residential area was quiet and safe. Can't go wrong staying here!

In a small pyramid in a quiet barrio of Managua, Manfred and his friendly staff offers you more than a hotel: a cool, original, green place to stay. To city center? 10 minutes ride. Great food on a lovely and shaded terrace, hear the breeze in the thick palmtrees fence while a Hummingbird seeks for nectary flowers... We went there for our stays (5, so far) in Nicaragua's capital. Manfred will fix everything for you, as he knows the place: he has been there for almost 30 years! We stayed several nights at La Pyrámide during our travels in Nicaragua and have rarely been made so welcome and had such excellent care and attention at a hotel. Manfred and his team seemed to effortlessly provide all that is needed for a comfortable stay in an unusual pyramid building, with good food and friendly service. Arrangements for fixing cheap transport to and from the airport and other places in the city were particularly appreciated as the regular taxis in Managua have a bad reputation. The peaceful surroundings with plenty of vegetation, not to mention easily audible bird songs in the mornings, were additional pleasures. Highly recommended!

I spent the last 2 Sundays at La Pyramide. I was passing through Managua before and after a trip to corn island and Manfred took care of all the details of my trip for me from airport transfers to booking my ticket from Managua to the island. I was very comfortable at la Pyramide and felt very safe and at home. When I wanted to do some touristy things Manfred dropped me off at the Mercado Huembes and the Laguna Tiscapa- he even paid my entry to the laguna. The food was really, really good too. I'm glad I chose this place over cheaper options.
