We speak limited Spanish and my husband made reservations over the phone. Hilda was extremely patient and friendly. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and felt right at home. The double room was spacious, bright and cool (A/C). The warm/hot shower was also a treat. We enjoyed the "typico" breakfast very much. $40/night was a good price for the room, but the friendliness of the staff is really priceless.
The location is in a safe neighborhood. Around the corner one can walk to a fantastic buffet-style eatery "Comida a la vista" where the locals go for lunch. All the food is prepared there, large selection, delicious fruit juices, very good prices!!!
We returned to the "posadita" before our flight home and they gave us the same room.
Next time in Managua we'll stay again in this welcoming, charming little place.

Several years the staff of this small hostel offers me excellant service. The situation in Managua is perfect for me, close to all important places. The rooms are clean, spacy and with good beds and airco. The friendly staff provide very nice breakfast, with a lot of local fruits (which I prefer).
I recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Managua, Nicaragua.

We simply needed a hotel the night before an early departure to the airport... La Posadita de Bolonia had all we needed... a cold beer from the check-in... a short walk to a restaurant... a movie on the television... a warm shower in the morning... and, this is the best part, an affordable ride to the airport in the early morning from the most pleasant son of the owner. The neighborhood is quiet and safe to walk through... but like all of Nicaragua, keep an eye to the ground or risk breaking an ankle.

We were looking for a hotel or B & B in Managua with following services: a/c, private bathroom with hot water, breakfast included, cable TV, telephone in room, and free internet, all these for budget travellers.

La Posadita de Bolonia fits these conditions. We paid $40 for a doble room, and for this price services we received were good enough. The a/c was split wihch means less noise, the breakfast was not simple continental but toasts with gallo pinto, eggs, cheese, fruits, juice, and good coffee. Internet was free at the office (it should be at the lobby, though). They offer transport to/from airport and several sightseeing tours. Hote staff was nice and kind, personal touch, very Nicaraguan taste.

For budget tourists this is one of the best options in Managua.
