I stayed at Hotel Happy House for the month of february 2006. It offers a secure, comfortable place to stay. There is a laundry next door and a secure mall a few blocks away. It was not as quiet as more expensive hotels, but for $23 a day it was very comfortable. The people working there are very nice and accommodating

reservation and had questions answered by Moises (one of the guys who works
there). This hotel is in a very nice area where I felt safe walking day/night
to & from the huge mall that was very near! Near tons of restaurants (try the
calzones & pizza across the street!)
Moises as well as the others who work here answered MUCHAS questions I had about
where to go, how safe is it to go downtown, etc. Ask them anything--they're so
helpful.
My room #5 was a nice big room for only me. There are only about 5 or so rooms
so reserve beforehand. My room had a TV, A/C, private bathroom with warm/hot
water heater. There was a water cooler with paper cups outside of my room.
They have a buzzer to let people in--so they see who you are before you get
inside. (Again, this place is secure)
The bed was firm as I like it--but not like a rock. I left early each of the 4
mornings I stayed there (Feb. 22-26, 2006) and skipped the breakfast that you
can pay 3USD-ish for if you'd like.

better!) At 21 USD per night, this place is definitely a bargain!!
