To find better location in Kiev is as hard as to get worse quality:) Located at the central square of Kiev (Maydan), Kozatsky Hotel is the best example of soviet hotel: small rooms, poor quality furniture, awful service. I new what it was going to be but decided to take it since I needed a place for a night downtown Kiev for reasonable price.

The location for this hotel is excellent. We chose it because the Chernobyl tour left from directly outside the next morning. More to the point, this is a perfectly preserved example soviet era hospitality. It hasn't changed a bit and so expect it to be a bit shabby round the edges, the price reflects that anyway.

For a romantic getaway or someone looking for modcons this is not the place, but for a window into days gone by you won't beat it.

Except location, nothing, but really nothing good to mention about this hotel. I have booked superior double room for single use, It's just like a bunch of Kiev hotels, has NOT been renovated since 80's. Do not believe website, pictures are fake (or photoshop). )))) Old, grose dump place. Just like Kreshatik hotel and Ukraina. Shame!!!! Pictures are coming....

We stayed at the hotel in October 2010. The hotel is situated right at the heart of Kiev in Independence Square! The location is only one good thing about the hotel. Our room was very very simply with old furniture, looks like Soviet Union room. The hotel needs badly repair!
