This was the worst of the hotels I've ever stayed at and I mean it. It rates itself as a 3*, but it is nowhere close to even a 1*.
We haven't made a booking, just called the hotel and been told that the rooms are available, however when we arrived at the hotel 15 minutes after we've been informed that there are no rooms at all. I don't know what they were expecting us to do, maybe to offer them money, but once they saw us leaving instead they've suddenly found a room for us. I wish we'd left though. The room was extremely small, the beds are short even for me, and mind you I'm just 5ft3in (161 cm), not even mentioning my boyfriend who had a wonderful night trying to squeeze himself in this bed. The beds and the room itself remind me of the Soviet-time pioneer camps, which I've been to when I was a kid, but I think those were better. There was a shattered wardrobe which I preferred not to use as we've stayed just for one night, a mini-fridge with large red numbers written on it and a TV, which worked strangely as it showed everything in weird greenish color. BTW, the remote didn't have batteries in it. What else? Do I have to mention the stained carpet, 2 chairs one of which was broken and the absence of toilet paper in the bathroom. One of the bedside lamps actually didn't have lamp in it.
The small cafe which was located on our floor had an awful smell of old food in it so we left didn't even trying to read a menu.
I am very sorry that we made a mistake staying at this awful lousy hotel, and I just don't want you to repeat it, so once you're in Kiev better choose something else.
