Ukraine is a fascinating country, and Kyiv is a great city. That said, there are still some issues for tourism in the country. They still seem stuck between capitalism and communism-- the attention given to "customer service" is still spotty. Sometimes, with younger workers, you get people who seem to understand that their job is to help; other times you feel as though you're interrupting their private time when they're "working." This hotel looks good from the bottom, but the rooms themselves look as though the KGB had just been there removing all the listening devices without plugging up the holes remaining. The breakfast was ok, but ran heavy to cucumbers and tomatoes. I'd give the hotel 2 Stars because I'm feeling generous.
