My husband and I stayed at this hotel during our recent trip to Kiev. I am actually Ukrainian and speak the language fluently, but even so our experience at this hotel was not positive. Apart from the fact that they greatly overcharge you for a hotel transfer (but this is the same all over Ukraine and Russia if you book via your hotel), upon arrival they were not friendly towards us. The credit card facility was broken and they demanded that we pay for the hotel upfront (this was the first time I was ever asked to do so) and in cash, which we didn't have. We were then sent to an ATM, where we were unable to withdraw the full amount due to daily limits, however they still demanded at least one night to be paid for before actually allowing us to see our room.
The room itself was extremely small, but this wasn't the main problem. The room was right next to the conference facilities and kitchen and extremely loud. When we asked if there was any chance we could be moved, we were told in an extremely unfriendly tone that this was impossible. Basically this is how our experience continued for the rest of our stay - we were very glad the stay was only two nights long.
The only positives about this hotel are the free wifi (which actually works) and the reasonably good location. Although in the old town and a bit far from the Kiev city centre, resturants and nightlife, the location is very good for tourists. And there are still a few nice restaurants (although very touristy) around. Breakfast in the hotel wasn't too bad, but nothing special.
I would not recommend this hotel, although am unable to compare to any others in Kiev as this was our first visit. I do know that Kiev is expensive and the service isn't great, however I would recommend you try to find a better hotel!
