Tripadvisor is incorrect: this facility is not the 47th of all hotels in Belgrade, instead it should not be on any list of real hotels. My advice is simple: just do not go there, unless you wants to enjoy "services" like unlockable roomdoor, mouse/rat-trap placed in the middle of the room, toilet out of service, broken furniture, open wires hanging out from the wall, dirty room and bathroom, falling wallpaints, smelly and disguisting carpets, cold food in the restaurant, poor service. I was happy to get out from this rusty, broken and disguisting place. Oh yes, they have 2 PCs in the lobby - no Internet connection. The poor wireless signal worked a bit. I am sorry, but far the worst experience that I had so far.

I arrived at the Kasina at 7am without reservation during late August 2009, and they showed me to my room immediately where I stayed for two nights at about GBP40 each.

In short, the hotel is very centrally-located and functional, with various room options at different prices depending on sizes and air-con/no air-con which really makes a difference in the summer. It just seems a little old and dated in parts - especially the corridor and a few of the rooms that I saw.

I was given a choice of two rooms (always look before deciding as they can be vastly different in quality and renovation depending on whether it is facing the main street or not, and round the back is much quieter) and both had good bathrooms and good shower, though in the one that I stayed in, it had drainage problems so water spilled everywhere from the shower and flooded the bathroom floor.

The Kasina is about half the price of the Moscow Hotel opposite, and just as central. Breakfast was included and was pretty good. Staff were very helpful, and I made good use of the cable TV as well which included many European channels. The lift also helped so handy for those on higher floors. There's no internet or wi-fi in the rooms, but you can use them at 40 dinars an hour near the reception (I'd use it elsewhere...)

A solid option if you're not too bothered about aesthetics.

This reception staff in this hotel could not be faulted. they went out of their way to be helpful and always had a smile. If only the hotel lived up to their standards. The location is great and it's cheap for such a central hotel in a capital city, but it has it's downside.

There is no such thing as a quiet room here - and I tried quite a few. The so-called quiet rooms at the back suffered from a very very noisy generator outside which was worse than the main road traffic at the front. To make matters worse the single rooms are tiny and very hot in summer - intolerably hot with the windows closed and intolerably noisy with them open (even with earplugs).

Singles, don't go for the cheapest room, I recommend upgrading to an air conditioned room, only £15 a night extra and its more than worth it. This got me a much larger, lighter and cooler room right at the front with a balcony. Yes the traffic was noisy but earplugs soon dealt with that.

If you can, get a room number ending 07 - these are the only ones with balconies and on upper floors you even get a view to the Sava river.

Overall the hotel is in need of some renovation. The breakfast was distinctly average but more than adequate. Reasonable value for the cost.

I travel alone, and was happy to get a singleroom on the 6th floor with a balkony and a great view over the city!
The hotel has a superb location, and yes its not brand new, but it has typical Beograd-charm. Breakfast is good, the coffee is very good. The elevator is interesting. Its clean and has nice somewhat english speaking staff.
