we check in 10/10/2011 ..we had to change rooms 3 times.....dirty, stain carpet, bad odors, wall stains, broken tile at bathroom and mold. we had to settle for a less horrible room but still broken tiles, stain carpet and mold...it was awful. please stay at the Hyatt across the street and avoid a nightmare...by the way you only get one towel for 2 adults....you have to beg and call over and over for towels...

Stayed for around 7 nights in what was a reasonably comfortable hotel however its really tired looking. It claims to be 5 star but really only 2 or 3 star. That said it could well be higher for Belgrade? As you would expect its a country with a good deal of poverty and with that comes the odd scam! The breakfast was ok and changed slightly each day, the staff where helpful and pleasant enough and I beleave if you stay on the upper levels your room has been updated (around level 6 and up) The lifts are shocking and the bar is lifeless and expensive but after a short taxi ride 500 dinas your well in the bar area. Student square is good (Cafe & bar eleven) live band on Sunday evenings and it gets packed 10.30 onwards, steady all other nights with great food. Dont let the taxi drivers rip you off at the airport! They are round you like flies! then take you to their car nowhere close to the airport and charge 4000 dina to the hotel! say no and get one parked by the exit of the airport and it should only be around 1500 but get a price first. Sadly we found out too late! Over all its not that bad.

Needs refurbushment

My first impressions of this hotel where my organisation was holding a conference were rather grim. Huge, Soviet style, not exactly in the most convenient part of town. Rooms clearly not upgraded since the place was built in the 1970s but clean. My first night was farcical. I opened the curtains, they fell off the rail. I opened the wardrobe door, it fell off. The walls began to tremble and there was an enormous rumbling. I was next to the lift shaft. I changed room. Curtains fell off there also but quiet. Despite all this, I found the staff charming and very helpful. The breakfasts were excellent. The swimming pool was also very good. The conference facilities were also very good for the region. So overall, I'd give this a good mark. I'd have preferred to be in the centre of town. Sense of humour helps....
