“Spotlessly clean & comfortable”

Like other reviewers, my stay was a stopover , 2 nights in my case. I arrived late by train and found the hotel easily. Minor downside was the lack of restaurant choice in the immediate vicinity, so on my first night I ate in the rather soulless restaurant adjacent to (and recommended by)the hotel. If you walk up to the pedestrian area of the city (less than 10 mins) there are plenty of attractive options. (DIRECTIONS: Turn right out of Hotel; take 1st right away from the station; at 5 way junction, take 2nd left up a hill until you reach Moskava Hotel on your left; pedestrian area is straight in front). Hotel staff were helpful in every way, the room was spotlessly clean & comfortable. I recommend it.

Room Tip: My room (102) was at the front - traffic & trams a bit noisy. Ask for a room at the back if you...

“Belgrade City Hotel - Simple, nothing too fancy, good for stopovers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

In terms of location...
This hotel is walking distance from the Gara Nord (Central Bus Station), which makes it greatly convenient if you're here for a stopover. Else, you'll need to walk around to get to attractions if you're sightseeing. There are some cafes / pubs nearby (such as The Three Carrots, an Irish pub), which you can go to for a drink later in the evening.

In terms of comfort...
The room was simple & basic. Nothing fancy, but clean and just a place for us to rest at the end of the long day. The room is a little small, so again, recommended for stopovers but nothing too luxurious.

Just to note, there wasn't an elevator to the room (which was on the 3rd floor in the secondary building), so there were some steps to climb. But nothing too tedious.

In terms of service...
Staff are friendly, and always serve with a smile! They pre-empted our arrival so checking in was a breeze, and spoke English.

In terms of food...
The hotel restaurant serves relatively decent food - again, nothing too out of this world, but its pretty decently priced for a hotel restaurant, especially if you intend to stay in and knock back a couple of beers and get a decent meal. Breakfast buffet was pretty alright with a simple spread - again, nothing too fancy.

Room Tip: During check in, ask if your room is located in the secondary building, and make sure its not too hi...

“Great Hotel!”

Stayed here last month during a stopover in Belgrade. The hotel is modern and close to the centre of Belgrade. The room was modern with comfy bed and air conditioning. Breakfast was basic European as you would expect to find in such a hotel Polite and friendly staff, great value for money. Will stay here again.

“Pretty nice and adequate place for a budget traveller”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

I stayed at BG City Hotel one night in October 2010 in a single room.
My room was in the building in the inner yard. The building did not have elevator and this was a bit uncomfortable.
Upsides: The staff was really nice! I was checking out before breakfast to catch an early plane and hotel staff prepared my take-away breakfast which was really nice.
My room was tidy and quiet. I guess most of the noise from the street and train station was not reaching my room because the building was hidden in the courtyard.
There were enough of grocery stores around where you could get all you need.
The rooms were reasonably priced. We paid less than EUR 50 per room.

Downsides: It really did not feel like a 4*. At the most – a 3* (well, maybe because of the room type I had).
The area where the hotel is located did not seem really nice. The surrounding non-central streets were dirty and dark. So walking around was not a fun option.
There was a casino in the hotel (or by the hotel). But don’t get mislead. It was no Vegas type casino. Just lots of slots machines and rather weird and suspicious people attending it.

If you are Belgrade on a budget I would certainly recommend this place. The overall impression was nice.
