We have travelled all over the world, and this hotel experience ranks as possibly our worst experience ever! At checkout, we were "mugged" by a vicious hotel manager. We were forced to pay 20 euros for "eating in our room", and 20 euros for two towels that had gotten a little dirty but would have cleaned up fine in the laundry. The nasty manager showed us the "rules" that said no eating in room and no using towels for makeup. One morning my wife wasn't feeling well so I brought her breakfast to the room, and another time we bought a few goodies at a local farmers festival (pastries, etc). Its not like we cooked or anything, just snacks! When we disputed the charges, the woman became abusive, screaming at us, and actually THREW the towels at us! We've NEVER been treated like that ANYWHERE!
In addition, there was some major construction being done on the roof right over our room, that made it absolutely impossible to be in the room all day long, including Saturday. Since we had just arrived from the US, we really needed some quiet nap time, and it wasn't even remotely possible.
The breakfast was uninspired, same yuck every morning (terrible bread, stale cheese, grissely salami...). The room had a tiny little tube TV from Ceaucescu's days, and the toilet seat was so poorly attached you had to do a balancing act.
Oh, other than that, location was OK, but there are many other alternatives nearby, so save yourself the pain and go elsewhere.
Room Tip: Make sure you are not any where near the construction projects!
