“Cozy place downtown Bucharest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I have stayed in this hotel a few days ago and I can say it's a cozy place, right on Calea Victoriei, one of the historical boulevards of Bucharest, close to all major attractions. The hotel consists in two buldings, one of them being a historical building. I have been accomodated in the main building, above reception desk, but I've heard that the historical one is more beautiful. Either way, I enjoyed my stay. The room I was given was not big, but clean and confortable, with queen size bed and coffee area.
Staff is very friendly and breakfast is ok.
I must say it's not my first time at this hotel, as sometimes, when around, I go at the hotel bar for a latte machiatto. They serve great coffee and the bar area is very chic

Dear Sir/Madame,

Thank you taking the time to review our hotel since your feedback is very important to us.

Please consider that, as being a boutique hotel, our rooms are stylish and each one has different particularities. The room you are referring to has one window that, unfortunately, due to rebuilding does not open to a nice view. Still the room is very spacious, very luxurious and gives you a nice feeling of home.

In what regards the cleaning we are very surprised of you comment. This is the first time in 6 years when a guest advise us of such a thing and we do apologize if you had this kind of experience.

If we would have known about those issues during your stay, we would have offered you another room and made sure cleaning service are to your satisfaction.
In our hotel all rooms are carefully cleaned daily and we make sure that all our guests are well taken care of.

We will be more than happy find out more about you stay. Please advise your email address or contact us directly so we can address directly to you for more information and help for your next stay.

We do take into consideration your feedback and we will do the utmost to continuously improve our services.

Kindest regards,

“Central, cosy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

Le Boutique Hotel Moxa is a very conveniently located hotel in the heart of Bucharest, close to the Royal Palace now National Art Museum (few yards down Calea Victoriei), the Central University Library and the city's main boulevard and National Theatre.
As noted by other reviewers, the hotel features some bizarre items, such as the Rolls Royce parked just outside the entrance, probably left there to impress the viewers, but it's quiet and cosy overall.
The double room I was given was a bit smallish, but it was provided with a comfortable queen-size bed and some basic facilities (minibar, satellite tv, hairdryer etc.). The room was cleaned every day. It was overheated, though, and I had to open the window to let in some fresh air (despite a funny sign saying that windows should not be opened otherwise "bugs" would enter the room; but there were no bugs in sight at that time of the year). The bathroom was smallish too, but the shower worked fine, with plenty of hot water.
The breakfast (and waiting) room is rather small, and occasionally I had to wait a little for a free table. The breakfast itself was excellent, with a good choice of croissants, cakes and jams, as well as ham, cheese and hot food.
The hotel staff is friendly and speaks English, but make sure they do understand your instructions if they are important (such as the time you need the taxi to the airport).
The hotel is made of two blocks united by a corridor. I was given a room in the main block above the entrance; I'm not sure of the quality of the other block's rooms, if in doubt you've better inspect.
The wi-fi didn't work well in the room, but was excellent in the reception and waiting room.
There's a gym and sauna which I didn't use but I was told it is well equipped.

If you're a light sleeper, ask for a room far from the lift and the staircase, otherwise you'd get some noise from downstairs and from the lift itself.
I'd say the Moxa hotel is very good value for Bucharest's standards.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main building, far from the lift and stairs.

Dear Mr. Enrets,

Thank you for your review.
We appreciate you positive and constructive feedback.

We would like to take this opportunity to explain you more about our hotel.
We are happy you have noticed our General Manager’s car in front of the hotel. Indeed it is for private use and also it offers a nice and luxurious atmosphere to the hotel.
Also the hotel is composed of two buildings: the original one in which you were accommodated, steel-glass modern building and the new one in Calea Victoriei, having Executive rooms and a more classic appearance. The two are connected with our beautiful patio.

We are glad that you have found the room fully equipped and, although smallish for your taste, still everything was OK and you have enjoyed your stay.

In what regards the breakfast, we are sorry that sometimes you have to wait for a free table. Probably it happened to be a very crowded breakfast day. We are sure that my colleagues have taken care of you after you were seated and I am happy that you found the breakfast itself as excellent.

We would like to end by assuring you that all our staff is doing their best in order to make guest feel like Le Boutique Hotel Moxa offers them a personalized service so they can feel as the hotel is their home.

Please note that we would be very happy to meet you on your next trip to Bucharest and to offer you a full visit of our venue. We are looking forward to welcome you back.

Kindest regards,

“Overnight Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

This was an overnight stay in Bucharest as part of a break during a 3 week business trip in a different part of Romania. It is not the first time I have stayed in the Moxa. The Hotel is just a short 10 minute walk from the centre of town. Although a taxi is needed to get to the old quarter.

The hotel is clean and the reception staff are friendly as are those in the Hotel's restaurant. The rooms are small but have most things that you need. (Note there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms). There are several channels on the TV to choose from although to be honest I didn't really have the time to view them. There is free WiFi in each room. There is a small but well equpped gym and a sauna that I made use of.

The rooms are clean and the standard of housekeeping is good. However the price of things such as drinks are expensive.
I would stay at the Moxa again as it is a known quantity to me. However there may well be better deals lurking around.

Room Tip: Corner rooms
