We landed at Otopeni Aiport and it rented a car. It took us about 2 hours and 30 minutes to find Residence Villa Marchisa! well, for one we did not have a map and i would strongly recommend buying a detailed bucharest map as soon as possible. We asked a lot of taxi drivers and even they had to spend 15 minutes trying to locate it as it is located in an extremely tiny street (abt 8 houses maybe). Getting there is quite convoluted, it was night and the place seemed a bit deserted and dark with dogs barking from different houses. Naturally we werent too happy roaming around dark alleys after dark. However, once we found the place, we were very pleased with the apartment. It was big and comfortable (except the mattress, which was ok), the washroom was excellent and everything was very neat and clean. there was a TV and everything else we needed, including a stove, plates, spoons and fork etc. (no microwave in the one we stayed in). One more thing, it is close to all the main attraction, its just that it is located in an older part of the city, where there are many small streets running circles around each other, so it becomes hard to find. Nobody in bucharest would know 'strada Licurg' (the street it is on) by name. On the way back we chose NH bucharest which was way easy to find, abt the same price and had equally nice rooms.
