“Great location at reasonable price, good rooms, has bidets”

When Tempo Hotel was fully booked, they booked us into Armonia Hotel, just a 3 min. walk (cross Carol I Boulevard and head down Str. Armeneasca). It is a "4 star" hotel, is more typically "Romanian," but excellent service and cleanliness. There is an in-house bar and restaurant (not well attended), and free and fast wireless throughout. More importantly, it was very close to downtown--just follow the tram tracks, and you will arrive either at Piata Unirii or Universitate in 5 min. At the price ($70 incl. good breakfast), this was a great hotel.

The bidet was a nice touch.

“Good Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2009

I had a lovely mix experience while staying in this hotel, the more with a positive tone. The staff is very courteous and helpful and greets with a smile. Ambience is also sweet. The main problem which i faced during my stay was the Bed in my room. It used to make noise with every movement i made. The breakfast was good and no doubt healthy, but the same menu was being repeated daily. I feel that the management should add more variety to its breakfast.
Overall I would say that I had a very good stay in this hotel and will love to stay at the same place again on my next visit to Bucharest.

  • Disliked — the beds making too much noise and thin walls between the rooms

Very nice hotel, close to the center of Bucarest.
The rooms are quite spacious, and clean.
Restaurant is nice too, even if the breakfast could be improved

“Friendly staff and nice rooms”

This is a nice hotel 20 minutes walk from the Parliament. Some noice related to the tram running from early morning until late evening. We had to recharge our room key every morning. This was a bit annoying especially because the front desk never gave any information about it. The rooms where big and nice. Cleaning was good, but check if they have put in some spare paper for the toilet. TV with English spoken channels and of course a lot of local ones as well. The breakfast was OK. You can ask for fried egg if you prefer, but do not expect that the waiter will ask you. We had some fun in the bar because the night porter did'nt have any clue about mixing even the simplest drinks. He had to ask us for help, bt did his best. All over I could say that the personel was very helpful and provided us with a good map of the city and a lot of good information. Do not expect that all speak English fluently. I could send my friends to this hotel.

“A huge mistake”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2008

I stayed in Armonia for a week in October.
First of all the staff can barely speak English and are very unhelpful. They just keep saying: I don't know and then ignore you completely. And yes, they sleep at the reception area.
The rooms are spacious and quite well equipped but very noisy: you can hear your neighbour snoring next door!
I'm going to Bucharest soon again and I will surely not stay there again.
They say it's a 4* property but they should fight for 1* strongly.
