I stayed in this hotel twice: in June 2006 and again this weekend. (November 2007)
My impression has been exactly the same both times. And is the same of what I read in previous reviews.
Location: very good. Central, in a safe area and with eveything at walking distance.
Rooms are not small and in fairly good conditions. Decoration is not bad. Not luxorious, but still quite nice.
Receptionists are, as someone else already pointed out, rude. They don't try to be helpful at all, and whatever you ask them it seems as if you are bothering them. Don't know why, but it seems that if you are not impolite you cannot work at the reception of this hotel ! Otherwise, how can it happen that they all are behaving in the same manner ?!
On the contrary, staff at the doors and cleaning ladies are usually kind.
Breakfast is OK: acceptable but not particualry rich.
If you need a taxi just get in on the road and stop one. Do not book via the hotel: the taxi will try and charge you at least the double of a standard fare. If you ask them why and complain theyll'argue that it is "a private car" not a taxi. What this should mean and why the fare would have to be more than the double is a mistery !
Anyway, if you are in a hurry and need to get a taxi from the hotel, at the end of the trip negotiate with the divre and don't give him more than 50/60% of his first request.
