This hotel is located within five minutes walk from the Train Station. www.booking.com has a good detailed map of the area. The express bus No 780 from the airport stops in the front of the Train Station. Please note that the bus stop for the same bus to the airport is on the side street on the right as you come out from the station. For the site seeing in the center of the city, the entrance to the Metro Station Gara De Nord (Subway/underground train) is right in the front of the hotel. Please note that this station has several entrances/exits. So when you enter the station note down the identification (these are letters A, B … etc). of the Exit/Entrance. I can not remember it now which one is in front of the hotel. The daily ticket for the Metro was 6 lei in Sept of 2011.

I made my pre-paid reservation on www.otel.com. Rate for a single room with breakfast was $55.

The air conditioned room was specious and well furnished with modern furniture. Plenty of storage space. Linens were clean and fresh. A flat screen TV was functional. The bathroom had a modestly spaced shower. The bath room was clean except for a couple spots in the shower with mold. Only one bath towel was provided!

I stayed for two nights. The maid service was very good. The room and the bathroom were cleaned and made professionally.

The check-in and check out was uneventful. Only one attendant at the front desk most of the time. The front desk staff was helpful but lacked the enthusiasm and welcoming smile!

There is a bar in the lobby and a business center with two computers. A hair salon is on also on the premises.

Buffet breakfast was good with reasonable number of choices.

If you are looking for a 3 star hotel near the train station, this one is a good choice

:) There was no room for non-smokers. No shampoo. The parking isn't free. I had to pay more than I expected.
The guy from reception had no sense of humour.
Anyway, if you travel by train and you need a room, it is the best choice in the area.

I booked a room only for oone night there. I did it because I was a little worry about the standard of Romanian Hotels. the hotel was fine, the room is 'standard', the same in all the other hotels. the zone is close to the main station of the city, so not that nice; although there is not a nice zone in Bucharest :(.
The service is generally (resturant and reception) very poor of smile! but it must be something generalized in Romania.

nice, clean, comfortable, but toooo hot, the air conditioner warks only on heat!!!!!
We tried to cool a litlle bit the room and it didn't wark!!!! And the rooms have no fresh air, but for a night it was really ok.
