Horrible hotel. Dirty towels and linen.
Had to sleep with my clothes on.
We spent one of the evenings with no power. No one even cared to give us candles.

Two step backs in time. One in the 1980s, the other one in the 1900s. This hotel is in need of a drastic refurbishment. Excellent location, excellent architecture, terrible furniture.

I stayed at the Capitol for 1 night and that was enough. The location is ok and the main attractions are within walking distance but thats really the only thing going for it. The staff are quite miserable and the decor is poor. When I went, Bucharest was very hot and humid and there is no air con at the hotel so we slept with our window open making it very noisy (to be expected for city centre), if it weren't for the bottle of wine I had with my dinner, I wouldn't have slept at all.

Recently was on a small tour to Romani. On the first night we stayed at this Hotel. Very nice exterior, then down hill from there. Rude lady at the front desk, very plain lobby, room was like entering a time warp to the Soviet days. Furniture was old and I even had a radio that appeared it was made in the 50's. A/C did not work, it made the room hotter. I tried to sleep with the window open but there was a lot of construction all night and the hotel was near a busy road. Bed was bad too. The mattress was probably as old as the radio. Restaurant was old but food was extraordinary.
