The Dacia is a throw back from the old Soviet regime and is one of the last State owned hotels in Moldova. Unfortunately, the Dacia and its staff have not yet made the transition to a modern customer based standard. There are guards on every floor and my room was searched on several occasions. The front desk staff is unresponsive and will not provide a print out of your bill, expecting you to take their word for your charges. I was insistant and found out that I had extra charges for a bottle of cognac, and several international phone calls!!!! I stayed at the Dacia for 12 days (no other options, I was on a business package) and complained on day 3 that the restaurant linens had not been changed since I had arrived. On day 12, they still had not. The same dirty napkins were just refolded for the next customer.
I will visit Moldova again but avoid the Dacia.
