This is a budget hotel and that's what you pay for. The staff was very nice, location is ok (maybe 10 mintutes walk to the centre), the room had an ugly Soviet style, but was quite comfortable, clean enough and have free wifi (I wouldn't say high speed though). So far so good. The bad part was the breakfast. Not much to choose from on the buffet and the bread was very dry.

Cheap hotel so I am not so surprised of the quality. stayed in the 10th floor where rooms were supposed to have been remodeled. Everything was working. Breakfast not worth waking up for, actually. The carpet in the room was so dusty that when you turn on AC you start to itch&your eyes turn red. Location was walking distance to the center.

I had very low expectations when arriving here. Yes the budget rooms are fairly basic, but everything that you need is there. Free wifi works great, rooms also include a fridge and satellite t.v. Bathrooms could use some renovation. Breakfast is quite decent. Lots of meats, cheese, bread, fruits and veggies, a few hot items, and drinks. Staff is great, and Anna at the foreign exchange/tour information desk is fantastic. The Veranda restaurant just around the corner is great value. Also the green supermarket is just across the street from that. I would stay here again. Keep in mind I am basing my review on a price/value basis. Most hotels in Chisinau are more than twice the price as the Cosmos. Not even close to twice the value though. Very close to the train station too.

The room that I was staying in had a nice clean bathroom with a shower, a large comfortable bed, a balcony, a family size empty fridge. It was perfectly clean. Yes, the hotel was built in the Soviet era, but guess what: It was purpose built for being an efficient hotel, and that's exactly what it still is! Everybody in town knows this hotel, so it is very easy to ask for directions if you get lost. I had a very nice stay there - I ended up staying 2 days instead of 1. The staff was nice, honest and helpful. My only complaint would be that I was asked to pay a ridiculous price for the sort of town tourist map that hotels usually hand out for free. Despite this, I recommend the Cosmos as a good value quality hotel in Chisinau.
