The Movie Pub is a huge, you've guessed it, Movie Themed bar, with very few customers. The accommodation we had was in a block in a yard out the back. The first few floors were business premises, with the accommodation on the top floor. Probably converted from office space, the walls are very thin. With no lighting in the stairwell, climbing and descending the two flights of stairs at night was a little bit tricky. The rooms themselves though were clean and looked like they had been recently refurbished. Breakfast was standard continental, plus a few hot offerings. The immediate surroundings of the hotel are a bit run down. It is a long walk from the town centre so don't try this with luggage. However, the real plus point is there are tram stops just outside the hotel, with trams running to the bus station, and the town centre from right outside. Buy your tickets from the tobacconist a few doors up from the hotel.
A real plus for Zagreb is that you can get some decent beer. Try the Medvedgrad beer halls, which does an excellent dark beer and has a couple of outlets right in the town centre (on Ilica and on Tkalciceva). Also there is a brew pub on the same street as the hotel, a couple of tram stops in the town direction, which does some good beer and good value food.
All in all the Movie Hotel has clean and modern rooms, at a reasonable price for the capital city and is excellently connected via the tram network.
