“Great staff, ok hostel.”

My wife and I crashed here for a night in a mixed dorm on our way to Plitvice and Split. The staff was tremendous, super friendly and offered some great recommendations for our trip down the coast. The dorm was ok, but we shared a bathroom with everyone in the room, 12-15 people, plus it was also shared with everyone in the common area since the designated bathroom was on the main floor. The kitchen space was small, but useable.

“Great location, great staff, and great friends”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2011

Someone once told me that hostels are magical places and she was very correct in her assertion.

Fulir Hostel in Zagreb was definitely a great place to end up in Zagreb. The staff were really interesting people and the other guests also had stories to tell.

The hostel was a great place to stay and there was a really good laid-back vibe overall. While I took care to lock up my valuables, I never really felt that there was any danger in losing your valuables mainly because you got to know everyone right there at the beginning.

I really recommend this hostel to stay when in Zagreb!

“Very friendly staff, fab location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2011 via mobile

I stayed here for two nights in the large 10 bed mixed dorm.
The hostel's instructions to find it were easy to follow. It is right off the main square and transport (tram/bus) hub. The hostel is located in one of the many quaint courtyards off of the winding streets of the capital. There is a communal tv area and basic kitchen supplies.
There is a bathroom in each dorm which is usually clean and functional.
The staff were really welcoming and couldn't help you enough. They were friendly and enjoyed talking to you and hearing about you and were always happy to help with a recommedation.
Unfortunately there was a very large and loud group staying at the hostel who stayed up all night drinking right outside the dorm door. The staff did what they could but left at 11:30pm and the group resumed their antics. Although not the hostel's fault it has only dampened my experience at the hostel. Other little annoyances included no personal plug points in the bedroom and a sticky dorm door lock that doesn't sound like much but when 9 others are coming and going from the room, it can disturb your sleep. Plus points are definitely the location, free wifi, great staff, value for money and authentic surroundings.

“Great location and great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 May 2011

The hostel is right close to a main square, the Dolac and the streets of restaurants and bars. We stayed in the private ensuite which was pretty large. The staff was really helpful and friendly all times.
When you're arriving for the first time, just be aware to look for the 2nd yard in you left when you enter the street!

“The Place to Stay in Zagreb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 June 2010

What can I say, excellent. If you are looking for cheap and central this is the place. Seconds away from Jelacica, the main square of Zagreb, and the bars of Tkalciceva, look out for a pub called Oliver Twist we spend most night in there and drunk them clear of a beer called Karl.

Overall a brillient experience and whould highly recommend it.
