I cannot think of one thing wrong or that I didn't like with this place. And bravo to the staff for their helpfulness and professionalism. The owners of this hotel are very lucky to have 2 very professional and kind gentlemen working for them. Mladen was there to help us when we checked in and when we had dinner in the restaurant. The other man was on duty in the morning (I am so sorry I did not get his name).
The level of professionalism this staff had was phenominal. For example, when we checked in we asked Mladen about getting to Zagreb center and also asked about getting to the zoo. A couple of hours later while we were eating in the restaurant (he was our waiter as well), he came to us with the information for the zoo. He had taken the initiative to look up the info for the zoo online and let us know the hours of operation and cost. He was very proactive. Also ,when we checked in, he wanted to be certain we would be happy with our room since we were with our 2-year old daughter. So, he walked us to both rooms to let us choose.
The hotel and rooms are very clean and have air conditioning. I loved that our rental car (with our 3 huge suitcases) was just outside our window in the hotel's secured parking lot. There was no additional charge for parking.
The restaurant food was delicious and well priced for dinner. Everything tasted so fresh. Even the bread basket has the best bread I had in 2 weeks in Croatia. Again, Mladen took good care of us. The ambiance and decor was very nice. As for the breakfast (which was included in the price) was perfect. I think because there weren't that many guest in the hotel, they didn't have a breakfast 'spread' out so you could choose what you wanted. But we were able to ask for whatever we wanted to the waiter and he brought it to us (for example, coffee, eggs, juice, meats, croissants).
It was very easy to get to the center of Zagreb where all the sites are and Mladen gave us a great map to us. It took about 15 minutes at most to drive. The city however was like a ghost town. I guess being that it is August...most of the locals are on the beaches for holidays still. That was where we were but were staying for 1 night in Zagreb before heading back to the US.
If you are looking for a great place to stay while visiting Zagreb, you should consider this hotel. It was extremely clean, the service impeccable and easy to get to Zagreb center by car.
