Our first impression about service was in fact a good one: we arrived late in Zagreb, without a map of the city, and could not find the location. We called the reception from the cell phone and were kindly remotely guided by the recepcionist. But then, in the rooms, the reality was much different: the bed sheets had holes in it, The cover sheets were very harsh, made of a very strong and heavy cloth, unknown to me for this purpose. The bath towels again were full of holes and falling apart in pieces. It's not that the room was not clean, but this appearance is not acceptable even for a cheaper hotel. The fact that the room door did not close on its own and had to be locked with the key also showed the overall bad condition of the room. The hotel was the single cause for us to stay in Zagreb just one night and move on earlier than originally planned...

We enjoyed staying here. The hotel was very helpful both by email and in person. Rooms were clean,Nothing to complain about, hotel is five minutes away from the main bus station, walking distance to all important locations in Zagreb. After all Hotel Slisko has a good value.

Hotel Slisko is pretty good for the price. I did not experience the internet or television issues that others have had. Walking distance to all transportation was nice as well, but of course, the same can be said for nearly all locations in Zagreb.

They printed up directions for the Zagreb Country Club for me, so I could find my way to the golf course.

Don't believe what Fodor's writes in their travel book 2006. This is not a 'nice little family run hotel'.

Good
- The Hotel is rated 2 star (but it is not, it is much lower). It is locate 5 minutes walk from th bus terminal, tram and train stops.
- Staff (reception/bartender) is very friendly and helpful.
- Breakfast is provided but we left too early to sample however, they were unable to accommodate us even with a coffee before the designated breakfast time.
- Nice bar and coffee service (inside and outside) at a reasonable price

Bad
- Internet provided for a small fee but it did not work.
- Close to bus station but on the 'seedy' side of town - not really recommended for children

Ugly
- This is not just a 2-bit hotel for overnight customers, they rent rooms by the hour as witnessed by the sounds of a mouning woman and a constant stream of young men in and out of a room on the first floor which is amounst other travelers. One young customer 'high-fived' the bartender on his way out the door.
- Rooms are disgusting - they have silverfish anhd cockroaches (seen them both in 2 rooms). I would not put my feet on the carpet floor. Something weird under the bed, either used toilet paper or other.
- Toilet seat in one bathroom completely broken in half
- A small clean white sheet covered a mattress that exposed itself during sleep - yuck.
- Don't believe the travel book that states 10% off for cash - they haven't done that for 2 years since advertised in the guidebook.
- TV in our room did not work.
