“Out-of-town, slightly creepy, but comfy and cheap!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

The worst thing about this hotel is its location - a good 20 minute walk from the end of the tram line heading west out of town. Not really what we wanted after a massive train journey. When we got there we felt as though we'd stepped into The Shining - acres of strange brown carpet and echoing corridors. However, the room was large and comfortable, there was a very good breakfast selection, free wifi and it was cheap! Goodness knows how this place keeps running - it may have something to do with the lap dancing bar next door...

“so so”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

Well, the only thing why I've chosen this hotel was the price - 39 euro including breakfast and free INTERNET access 24 h a day. But I've booked it for 3 nights and then had to stay for 1 more night. And what do you think happened? They charged me 72 euro for the last night!!! I could not believe it!!! The hotel stuff was fully unprofessional. I had to wait for 30 minutes to get my invoice finally!!! And more - the hotel's location is very bad - very far from the city center. Concerning the high overall price, I had better chosen something closer to the center. I don't advice this hotel. In such a big hotel like Holiday there has to be more adequate and professional stuff.

  • Liked — room+free Internet
  • Disliked — location, high price, very unprofessional stuff!!!

“The worst night in my life!!!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

I spent the first and also the last night in your hotel. It was the worst night in my life. The room was very dirty and the first thing I felt when I came to the hotel room was the smell of cigarettes. Bathroom was also very dirty and towels too. The "air conditioning" if I can say air conditioning, which was at the our room was very loud and the panel was for us very funny. Every step on it from our side was louder and louder. The construction of the beds were not stable. According your pictures from your website your hotel looks very nice, clear and very good. UNFORTUNATELY THE OPPOSITE IS TRUE!!!!!!!

I´m inquisitive how long my bad critique remains here on your web!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Never ride here!!!

“should be called Hotel Horrible”

we stayed at the hotel holiday for week travelling in a group of 45 for a sporting event with my husband and three children. Firstly rooms can only accomodate upto 3 people so we were split into two rooms, the first rooms were awfull they stank of cigarette smoke, body odour and like someone had used the toilet and not flushed (you get the picture) so i went to reception and complained and they got a maid to show us other available rooms, our new rooms were ok but not fantastic, the beds in my room were like sleeping on a plank but the beds in my husbands room were fine so i think its pot luck with that. bathroom in my husbands room was fine, bathroom in my room was terrible shower attachment was badly positioned on the wall so i had to hold it to shower otherwise it would flood the bathroom out!, couldnt run a bath as the water pressure on the bath taps was so bad it would have taken over an hour to fill it, but it was clean. The windows in the rooms left alot to be desired as they often fell out when u tried to open them (yes the whole unit would come completly out of the frame) not ideal in any circumstances but even more so when you have small children with you. I didnt have a fridge in my room but reception were very good in getting me one, ok so it had to sit on the desk as it didnt fit in the cupboard it was supposed to go in, but it was better than not having one. Hotel website is very deceiving as it only shows you the luxury rooms dosent mention standard rooms. the Hotel could do with a complete revamp corridoors very dark and dindgy, rooms not fantastically furnished or decorated. Another rather important thing the hotel website doesnt mention is the nightclub they have in the basement its called THE PLEASURE DOME name says it really but i'll spell it out anyway, its for the entertainment of men with pole dancing and "special rooms" if you get the idea which is completly unacceptable in my view when children are staying at the hotel, because of this we often had local men hanging around the hotel foyer at night and using the internet room, we had the unfortunate inccident one night of a group of men watching porn on the computers which resulted in an argument breaking out because it was in veiw of the children. Food was ok, nothing to write home about breakfast consisted of muselie, tined fruit, scramble egg, frankfurter sausages, streaky bacon, toast ect evening meals were ok, depends on your taste, our entire group had rooms on the first floor and we all agreed that if we had been there for a holiday we all would have been devastated at staying at this hotel. I could go on forever about this hotel but will leave it there.

“The Shining”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

Imagine if you will there'd be a coup and a dictator had fled. The hotel is like something he would have left behind. Not the grand, gilt-edged palace but the administration wing of the dictatorship.

It was supposed to be a non-smoking room which begged the question as to why there were ashtrays in there. The air-conditioning blew out hot air. The maid opened the "locked" door unannounced. If you get in the wrong elevator you end up in the kitchen.

Amusing for an evening, but i'd not want to spend any longer there.
