we stayed at the hotel holiday for week travelling in a group of 45 for a sporting event with my husband and three children. Firstly rooms can only accomodate upto 3 people so we were split into two rooms, the first rooms were awfull they stank of cigarette smoke, body odour and like someone had used the toilet and not flushed (you get the picture) so i went to reception and complained and they got a maid to show us other available rooms, our new rooms were ok but not fantastic, the beds in my room were like sleeping on a plank but the beds in my husbands room were fine so i think its pot luck with that. bathroom in my husbands room was fine, bathroom in my room was terrible shower attachment was badly positioned on the wall so i had to hold it to shower otherwise it would flood the bathroom out!, couldnt run a bath as the water pressure on the bath taps was so bad it would have taken over an hour to fill it, but it was clean. The windows in the rooms left alot to be desired as they often fell out when u tried to open them (yes the whole unit would come completly out of the frame) not ideal in any circumstances but even more so when you have small children with you. I didnt have a fridge in my room but reception were very good in getting me one, ok so it had to sit on the desk as it didnt fit in the cupboard it was supposed to go in, but it was better than not having one. Hotel website is very deceiving as it only shows you the luxury rooms dosent mention standard rooms. the Hotel could do with a complete revamp corridoors very dark and dindgy, rooms not fantastically furnished or decorated. Another rather important thing the hotel website doesnt mention is the nightclub they have in the basement its called THE PLEASURE DOME name says it really but i'll spell it out anyway, its for the entertainment of men with pole dancing and "special rooms" if you get the idea which is completly unacceptable in my view when children are staying at the hotel, because of this we often had local men hanging around the hotel foyer at night and using the internet room, we had the unfortunate inccident one night of a group of men watching porn on the computers which resulted in an argument breaking out because it was in veiw of the children. Food was ok, nothing to write home about breakfast consisted of muselie, tined fruit, scramble egg, frankfurter sausages, streaky bacon, toast ect evening meals were ok, depends on your taste, our entire group had rooms on the first floor and we all agreed that if we had been there for a holiday we all would have been devastated at staying at this hotel. I could go on forever about this hotel but will leave it there.
