Sofia guesthouse was our first stop on a mini tour of Bulgaria. We were picked up from the train station off our 1.5 hours late train from Vienna, and shown where to get money before being driven to the guesthouse. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout our stay, knowing bus and train times and prices off by heart it seemed, and providing us with an excellent free map of the city and information about the free sofia tour (www.freesofiatour.com). We enjoyed the breakfast and stay here very much and would highly recommend it.

We recently stayed here with our two children. The place was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. It was very central and a great location but also very quiet as it is set back from the street. I would recommend it if you just want somewhere to sleep without having to pay the large prices for a hotel

The Sofia Guesthouse has a very good location, the staff are very friendly and helpful and it is cleaner than your average hostel. The “all-you-can-eat” breakfast is indeed continental.

One piece of advice. Beware, particularly if you take a private room, that there is no privacy at the Sofia Guesthouse. Walls are paper thin, so you’ll hear everything ( I mean EVERYTHING) your neighbours say and do. Don’t forget to pack the earplugs.

We stayed at the Sofia Guesthouse apartment which was pleasant enough. The only problem was that according to their website the apartment was part of the Sofia Guesthouse (which is fairly central) but was in fact about a ten -fifteen minute walk away going out of town. The breakfast was good but we had to walk to the main guesthouse for it.
