While the hotel is located near the bus and train station, and on a major thoroughfare, it is not as good as some of the other reviews may lead you to believe.

The room was clean and pleasant but there was no air conditioning. The hotel does not have an elevator and the steps are winding and narrow. The breakfast is sparse at best.

One needs to consider it a two star property and, as such, is satisfactory.

This was the first place we booked in Bulgaria and I was shocked at the price, and just figured that's how expensive things are. When we got there, I was shocked again. The carpet looked like it had every stain it ever acquired since it was installed sometime in the sixties I would guess. The walls, ceilings also had mysterious brown splatters that looked like blood. The bathroom was clean - or so I thought until the second night when whoever cleaned the toilet got a little careless and left a long string of dusty grime - the same kind that clings to the bottom of a floor mop - across the toilet seat, which ironically had a piece of paper across the seat saying something like "disinfected." The room was dingy and dark with fake satin curtains and bedspread think of the 70s again. The picture on the website looked nothing like our room. I felt completely ripped off, especially when I stayed down the street in an exponentially nicer place for literally half the price. The room was the quality of something that would cost about $40 in the United States in 2008. We spent $167 for a double for two nights.
