We came to Sofia for a 3 day stag-do so we didn't need anything special, just a place to lay our heads, in a decent location and not falling apart. On these counts the hotel gets three ticks.
We took 'the apartment' and two 3-bed rooms. Since I only stayed in the apartment I can't comment on the other rooms but I heard no complaints from the other guys I was with.
The apartment was fine, very roomy and comfy beds. We had 7 of us staying in there so expected 7 single beds but instead there were double beds and a couple camp beds which was a bit disapointing. I ended up sleeping on the massive sofa instead as it was bigger than the camp beds and still got a few good nights sleeps.
The bathroom looked nice but wasn't great for 7 guys. The main shower leaked so flooded the floor. There was a drain in the middle of the floor which didn't make this a big problem but sure a non-leaking shower would have been more effective. Also, it took ages for the water to drain away. The other shower was over the bath with no screen so was also a bit crazy. And only one toilet. For such a big space two bathrooms would have been better.
The service was perfectly fine. Spoke good English and friendly. The breakfast was very poor. Served in the reception it consisted of a cake (breakfast?), espresso a 'shot' of OJ (can have more if you ask) and a pre-packed meat and cheese sandwhich which looked, smelt and some say tasted aweful. As we didn't get up till late most days we usualy ate elsewhere (McDonalds one and some nice bars/restaurants other days).
The location was perfect being close enough to all you need if you don't mind a bit of a walk. Even if you do go further than we did the taxis are so cheap it doesn't matter. From the brief time we were there, it seems Sofia has some very well-off parts and those that seem a lot poorer, this was in the later nicer areas were a very short walk away and you lose nothing for staying in the poorer area.
I hear some people saying rooms at the front were noisy. As we didn't stay there it's hard to say but from where were it was perfectly quiet and we all got a good nights sleep every night.
For the price it was fine, many 'classier' hotels in Sofia but this will suffice, especially if you don't usualy eat breakfast.
