We chose the Atlantic as we'd stayed two nights in the city and wanted to spend our final two nights at a hotel with an outdoor swimming pool. This lovely hotel exceeded our expectations by far. The hotel was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, with excellent service and breathtaking views of the city.
As we entered the reception area I noticed a beautiful centre piece, a fish tank designed as a table for the seating area. The lift also deserves a mention as it is on the exterior of the building and has glass walls so you get a view of the pool and then the city while ascending to the top. The restaurant is also on the third floor with an amazing panoramic view of the city and mountain.
We were upgraded on arrival to a 2nd floor standard apartment free of charge. The apartment was luxurious and spacious, with a balcony, cosy sitting area with tv and fridge, double bedroom with tv and a bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Our balcony had a pool view and the bedroom had a wonderful view overlooking the city.
The hotel is located in an unusually peaceful area near the base of the mountain and off a busy main road where the Jasmine Hotel is located. The tranquillity is a total contrast to the city. There didn't seem to be much to do in the area but we spent our daytimes by the pool where we had waiter service for food and drinks from the bar and spent our evenings in the restaurant admiring the view. The food in the restaurant was delicious and they even went to the trouble of cooking something that we requested that wasn't on the menu.
A taxi to/from the city centre costs 8 Lev but the hotel does it's own pick up/drop off service for 10 Euros which we used as they picked us up from an apartment in the city centre.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and will definitely return one day.
