I found this hotel recommended in a travel guide and was delighted with the room and thought it was a great value. The room had some peeling wallpaper but was overall bright and clean and modern. The staff were really nice, but were always smoking in the entrance.

I stayed for 10 days at Hostel Pop Pogomil In July 2008.
First I reserved a single room with private bath but after
a couple of days I shared a place in 'shared public' room

The place is situated at the intersection of Pop Pogomil & Rakovski blvd. Central train station nearby as well as casino. Sofia
city center almost 5 minutes walk..

I recommend the place because it provides clean
and secure lodging..

We stayed at the hotel Pop Bogomil for three nights on April .We were two adult couples with three children ,total seven persons .The children slept in a spacious twin room that became a triple with an extra charge of five ( 5 !!) euros per night .We were charged for 30 euros per night per room .The breakfast is extra , 3 ( three ) euros per person . As you can see prices are more than affordable .Of course , it is a poor hotel .The advantages are : the price , the location ( ten minutes walk from Tzum , Sheraton etc ), the friendly woman staff , the quietness.The hotel , though full , was very quiet .
The disadvantages : it is old and the road ,though peaceful ,is ugly.
