My husband , our friends and me stayed at Anel for three nights.
We had the most pleasant stay !!
It's a brand new hotel with the most spacious and quiet rooms , huge beds , free internet , free parking in front of the hotel , sumptuous breakfast ( smoked salmon and sausages inluded among other delicatessen ),free spa facilities .
Nice and quiet lobby and bar.
10 minutes walking from Sofia statue ( central square ).
The only point that makes me wonder is : why so many dark paintings and ''Lucian Freud'' style statues ?
Nevertheless , I think that we have found THE PERFECT HOTEL to stay in Sofia.

The hotel is pretty close to the city center. The service in both the hotel and the restaurant is excellent (the restaurant has even a nice terrace). I did also use the massage at a very good price. The only drawback is the casino. I was disturbed at several reprises at night because drunk people were coming and going and of course in female company. Otherwise I can only recommend the hotel.

I don't know why but I got an upgrade to presidential suite. It was huge! 2 big rooms, 2 bathrooms, big terrace...
This hotel is great value for money, but design has a serious lack of good taste. They just wanned to make it look expensive and luxurious but there is hardly any style. And you will find mixture of very expensive and very cheap thing in hotel.
Stuff was OK but I would say not on a level 5 star chain hotels. They were good but simply you see that they don't have all usual protocols and procedures.
Location is OK but for tourists you can find much better ones. For me it was perfect since it was 5 mins from offices.
Breakfast was OK but not high quality. Again one of those small thing which are telling you that this is not a high end hotel.
High speed wireless was free and worked perfectly.

We booked the hotel due to its price of 90 Euros for a double including breakfast which cannot be beaten for a 5-star-hotel.
We had asked for a non-smoking room when booking a couple of weeks ago and again hen checking-in and received a large, cosy and luxury room which unfortunately smelled awfully from smoke.
When discussing this with the reception, we immediately received a different room which was also large, cosy and luxury and did not smell.
There were some stains in the carpet which I do not expect in a 5-star-accommodation but they did not reduce the overall impression.
We could park directly in front of the hotel free of charge.
Breakfast did not really meet our expectations and experiences with other 5-star-hotels. Staff at the breakfast room was extremely unfriendly and the quality, selection and appearance of the food at the buffet was rather 3-4 than 5-star.
Although the hotel is located at a main street you do not hear any noise and can have a nice and quiet rest.
The walking distance is about 20 minutes to the city center which is a bit a disadvantage.
Anyways, especially with respect to the price and what you get for it I would recommend this hotel in every case.
