I stayed at the Sveta Sofia Hotel as part of a group for four nights (Two double occupancies and five single occupancies) The Sveta Sofia Hotel is a perfectly located hotel for staying in the city centre. Staying here means you can walk to any places of interest in the city day and night. I will definitely stay here again if I go to Sofia.
The staffs were all very welcoming as well as helpful in all regards and requests. It was a case of service with a smile. The Manageress was excellent and very understanding to a room change and a sudden cancellation.
The hotel rooms are as you will expect if you stay at a Premier Inn, Travelodge or Ibis in England. That is to say the rooms have comfortable beds (Single or Double occupancy) and en suite shower with toilet. The TV has CNN, BBC World, a couple of music channels and many Bulgarian channels. The air conditioning works perfectly as well. There is also a hair dryer, fully stocked fridge and towels. All rooms are sized for double occupancy so that means big rooms and they are cleaned daily including Sundays. A few rooms had no wireless internet access but you can rectify this by requesting a room change or using your laptop in reception. There is also a free gym with a Smith Machine, Treadmill and Work Bench.
Breakfast is not as bad as described by others – you get what you pay for. To be precise breakfast is good. It has toast or sliced breads, variety of fruits, cheeses, boil or fried or poached eggs , sausages, ham, cereals, with tea, coffee or fruit juice.
Overall, this is a good hotel not claiming to be luxurious. It has all that you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Just ask at the 24hour reception if you want something or have a problem. Always ask the receptionist to get you a taxi and always agree a price before you leave. If you flag a taxi, agree a price before you leave.
I advise that you take a taxi from the airport as taking the bus and tram would most likely get you lost as English is not widely spoken (Not meant as derogatory to Bulgaria). Don’t pay more than 15Lev but I can assure you that the taxi driver will try to get more.
