“great location, beautiful hotel, some incidents...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

The location is perfect for this hotel: 30 min to the airport by taxi, 5 min to the city centre by foot. This is perfect if you have a short time to spend for a visit of the tourist attractions, or if you want to find a good restaurant (actually, the Club of the Architects Restaurant is just arround the corner and it serves great food).
The staff are friendly and helpfull, and the rooms are nice and big. The furniture looks old style, but it is nice and gives a warm feeling of a family (old one) house. The bed was big and comfortable and the bathroom clean and nice (hair drier, towels and rope included, missing: cotton buds and pads - take your own with you!).
I had both breakfast and lunch at the hotel and both were good. It could be difficult for a vegan to eat here though, most of the items on the buffett were prepared used milk and/or eggs at least. Nice tea selection available in the morning (I do not drink coffee).
Now about the incidents. First - the noise level. My room was at the 3rd floor and unfortunatelly facing a small garden where a party/restaurant/pub was organised. So there was noise until 4 in the morning. I was lucky to have my ear plugs with me. Second - the water issue. In the day when we left the hotel, there was a water shortage for 3 - 4 hours (during which the toilets were obviously not working, in the restaurant and business center area). I do not know if this was a one-time issue, but it was very unpleasant.

“great location next to a park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

One of my favorite places on my tour. It was nice to have a park right across the street. Quite central and quiet.
Interet net was a up the stirs in a dark corner. Think they charge for use but guess I was so early that they did not charge me. Due to included dinner and optional dinner I did not get a chance to eat out aprt froma short visit to a cafe down the street. There were a lot of bars/cafes around. I would come here again.

“Good location...great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

The hotel is located within a short walk to the city center. There is a nice park across the street. You can walk in any direction and find nice outdoor restaurants and bars...all reasonably priced.

While a bit expensive, the food in the hotel is superb! The breakfast buffett is filled with every kind of breakfast food imaginable. They even have authentic unsweetened yogurt. You won't go wrong staying here.

“Good value and convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

We stayed here in July 2011, and found it comfortable and convenient, very close to the Alexander Nevski Cathedral, and not too far into the city centre - within walking distance. A small park is opposite, and a fairly quiet location. Local bars and restaurants close by too. Buffet breakfast was good and plentiful for Bulgaria standards. Rooms medium sized, decent standard and comfortable. Good service from Lobby staff, who spoke some English. Would return again.

“Fancy Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

I don't think there is anything bad about this hotel maybe except the 4th floor. The washroom was spectacular and I am alway iffy about taking baths in hotels since I question the cleanliness but I had no problems diving into this one for a nice bath. Additionally, this hotel is central located with many banks nearby and a nice outside bar in a park across the street. A quick walk would also take you to currency exchanges, churches, and other interesting sites. Now back to the 4th floor. We mistakenly pressed the 4th floor at 3am to get back to our rooms and it was pitch black and not in use. Quite creepy.
