Travelling frequently to the BALKANS I have stayed in many 4 start hotels in many countries and believe me, this hotel is excellent standard and value. I always expect the worst when travelling so when I booked this for 35 euros I was only hoping that the rats were small...what a surprise! Very clean, great standard (this is the Balkans) and it even has wifi in the room.
If you travel to Sofia, believe me, this is a very good hotel
Ps All Balkan hotel staff are rude, it’s what they do 

Stayed at this hotel on route to Athens for the Champions League Final. Please be aware of the taxi drivers at the airport, it costs between 7-10 Leva to get to the city centre. My driver charged me a lot more. However the hotel sorted a reputable taxi for the return which cost 8 Leva.
The female members of staff were very helpful behind reception and behind the bar. The male members of staff were not so helpful but i believe this was down to the fact that they spoke no English.
The hotel is clean but the facilities are basic. I was only at the hotel for one night but I did spend some time in the bar which was adequate for a few quiet beers.
There is a nightclub opposite but I heard no noise from it although it is open until 6am. The local area was busy throughout the day and night but probably not safe to go wandering around if you're alone.
I would stay here again if it was another stopover but not sure i'd want a holiday or short break here.
