I liked the hotel - good location - easy walk into the city (about 10 minutes) and close to the thermal water communal springs. There's also a great little convenience shop on the corner where you can buy mini take-away cups of coffee and snacks. Found the hotel's breakfast typically European with a mix of cheese and ham as well as hot foods. I ordered a "typically" Bulgarian chicken and vegetable dish one night from room service - and found it pretty reasonably priced and very tasty. There's also a gym and sauna but I just didn't get around to using it as out wandering a lot.
The one thing I was most relieved about in Sofia is most of their street signs were also in English - a friend had mentioned they only used the Russian cyrillic alphabet but thankfully the city had many in both. I took a cab from the airport thinking I wouldn't be able to find the hotel if only looking at cyrillic streetsigns. Ironically the cabbie happened to crash his car about half a mile from the hotel so armed with streetmap I thought it would be a struggle but no problem. All fairly easy to find your way around. Enjoy.
