Sofia has parts that are run down and parts being rebuilt into the 21st century. This hotel was right on the edge of some of the new construction. It was clean, spacious and inexpensive (compared to northern Europe -$85USD). I did have a cab driver rip me off - I should have had him drop me off at the hotel door - they told me they would have gotten the correct rate for the ride from the bus station (12 Euros not 30). Wonderful service with a great expansive breakfast (included).

You know I share the previous persons view on this hotel. Not sure why so many 'fantastic' reviews. Do not get me wrong, it is not a bad place, it serves the basic functions well, there is a shower, a bed and a telly. That is what we all need right?

There was a strange smell in the bedroom, I was on the fifth floor. But I got a good nights sleep and the telly and shower worked. Breakfast was good, some choice was there. Location was a five min taxi ride from the centre.

As it was an overnight stop, it did what it said on the tin.

Not sure why so many fantastic reviews - probably they are made by its own staff. Hotel is just OK. Some rooms are more spacey, others really small. I had to change one due to strong smell. The other was a bit better but sti not completely. In some of the rooms there were flat TVs while one of our colleagues could not find any tv in his room.
3 stars is max for this hotel

This hotel is a good value for the money. Very nice, clean and good size rooms with excess to balcony. nice outdoor breakfast by the pool side. Walking distance to nice restaurants, supermarket.
