The hotel is a nice 4 star one, only 100-200 meters from the Alexander Nevski, situated on 11-th August street, next to the Dondukov Boulevard (in case, that your taxi driver pretends not to know it). The staff is friendly and always with a smile, but the hotel manager is doing here something wrong. There are other prices for the parking (directly opposite of the hotel) at the small Kiosk on the parking area and at the reception. There are other prices, if you call them and negotiate about the room and on the Internet or if you appear there, with the suitcase. So, if you are travelling on business and have in mind to do a job, waste some time about those negotiations too. Something typical in Eastern Europe and in Bulgaria, ha ?

If you get any drinks at the bar, be careful and ask for a receipt, because during my stay, the prices without receipt were more expensive than with!!!!

Husband attended a conference recently , but when we arrived in Bulgaria sadly our luggage did not! Panic over the helpful reception staff advised us where to get to get emergency supplies of clothes etc. The next day Alex on reception chased the airport lost luggage for me and when it was found advised me that the best solution was to use the hotel transport to go to the airport with a bell boy to collect it personally, yes there was a fee for the car, but brilliant advice and to see my husbands face on the return of his suit etc , priceless! The hotel is ideally located for sightseeing and is well appointed with all mod cons. The in house Italian restaurant is very good too if you don't have time to find a restaurant . Service, choices and wine were excellent. Buffet breakfast was good too. Can't think of any negatives ! We had no complaints the 3 nights we stayed there.

We stayed in Best Western City Hotel Sofia for one night in August 2011.
The hotel is situated in the very heart of Sofia, all major sites can be reached by foot in a couple of minutes, public transport is 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
The transfer from the airport which the hotel offers is convenient, but about 10times more expensive than the regular taxi tariff in Sofia. Next time I would rather take a taxi from the taxi counter in the arrival hall at the airport.

The room was clean and tidy. The bed and the pillows were comfortable. The colors in which the room was held were a bit too dark and a little bit unhappy for my taste.

The staff are welcoming and very helpful.

Best thing about the hotel is the food. The restaurant offers mainly italian food, has good prices and the dishes are so tasty! We ate black risotto and a salad with roast beef - delicious!

We stopped at this hotel for a long weekend away, our room was large, spacious and clean.
Breakfast is continental, but there are also a couple of hot options.
The restaurantt is open thoughout the day, and serves Italian and Bulgairian food.
We visited it a couple of times, and were impressed with both the service and food.
The hotel is very handy for visiting the tourist sites in Sofia.
The hotel offers transfers to the airport for 10 Leva per person, but we used O.K. Taxi for trips from and back to the airport and were charged 10 leva, although i did see the figure on the meter, which was a few leva less.
