“Better options in vicinity”

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. Mainly becasue of location and price. It is just 5-10 minutes from the airport and located in a nice and quiet area (Ilidza) near the Bosna river. The hotel is supposedly a four star hotel. However it is nowhere near that. The rooms are old, run down and with absolutely no frills. A TV with very few international channels. No AC or heating - working anyways. Dogs barking at night (at least the they have the five times I 've stayed there). So if you are a light sleeper avoid this hotel.

Decent speed wireless internet for free. However does not work so well on top floor.

Has a decent restaurant but ordering breakfast can be a challenge if you are not with a local. The waiters are very bad at english.

The best thing to say about this hotel is that it is cheap: 65 Km per night I think. However since I found the Herzogovina which is a 5 minute walk from this hotel I probably want come back.

“This hotel leaves a lot to be desired”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

We would not stay in this hotel again. We did not have airconditioning, nor was there a lift for the 3 floors. Having a bad knee, found it difficult to get to the third floor. The fittings fell off the bathroom, floors were slipery and we felt like we were in a Bordello!!! Red, red, red and the bedspread of satin and silk had black marks on the bottom at the end of the bed. The smell of cigarette smoke was horrendous. The waiters were biased and non communicative.
The reception were helpful, as much as possible. We couldn't get up the whole way up the stairs as the sensor lights shut off and it was dangerous. Not having airconditioning when Sarajevo was experiencing 40 degree heat was unacceptable. We didn't give it any stars.

“Roomy but smelly.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2009

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights as a family of four (children 4 and 8). We were greeted by a lovely woman at reception, who was incredibly kind, friendly and helpful for the duration of our stay. Our room was up many many many stairs (3rd floor) and there was no lift, but hey, we are used to stairs. The room was an apartment, so the kids could sleep in their own area, and each had a bed of their own which was very welcome. The apartment was dated in terms of decor (you should see the red glass bricks in the bathroom!) but clean and comfortable and very very roomy. The only negative for us was the strong smell of smoke throughout the whole apartment. We figure that it is probably a smoking room, but this is compounded by the smoke rising from the lower floors. I opened every window I could, and it didn't bother us as much by the second day. The breakfast too, was very average (you could order some eggs or cornflakes from a menu) and was served by a very very surly waiter, who clearly spent every moment of his day wishing he was somewhere else.

The hotel was a bit tricky to find, but it was well located, about a 15 minute drive into Sarejevo and near some easy to reach bars and restaurants, and adjacent parkland to wander around, or to take one of the horse drawn carriages.

Sarejevo itself was fascinating, and we HIGHLY recommend the 1.5 hour old town walking tour, and the Tunnel of Hope tour (both booked through the tourist information office). These were fascinating and extremely good value for money. The kids went free.
