“Recommendable, but not European 5*”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

I have spent just one night in this hotel (on business), so I cannot judge on many things. Unfortunately, I have not had time to see the wellness area. My room was very big. Actually, it was more like a small suite, as it also had quite a spacious antechamber. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. There was a large plasma TV, matching the size of the room. The mini-bar was very well stuffed with various items. There was also a kettle with coffe and tea-bags. The bathroom was huge as well, almost the size of the room, with two wash-basins. There was a regular tub and a regular shower. The door on the tub was not functioning well tough, actually, could not fully close. It is a little bit inconvinient that there is nowhere to put you towel on when you come into the tub, except onto the wal of the tub itself, as the hangers are too far away. One wall of the bathroom is full in windows and it is a nice sight - entirely white bathroom and snow-covered Sarajevo outside the window.
There was a walk-in closet in the room with ironing facilities, bath-robe and slippers. No large mirror.
The breakfast is served in the rotating restaurant on the 15th floor (but it was not rotating when I had my breakfast there, I do not know why, but I know it is a rotating one really, as I had had a lunch there on a couple of other occasions). The breakfast itself was nothing special, especially if you have in mind this is a 5* hotel. No pork ham, no fresh orange juice... I sticked to bread and butter. There was no sugar in bags, but sugar in a glass (normal glass, not sugar bowl!) with a spoon stuck into it to serve yourself, but the spoon was obvisouly wet before and then fully sticky with sugar.
The view from the restaurant is really nice, but what you can is see is mostly hills with houses.
I did not ask about wireless Internet, but it was not working automatically in my room.
The hotel is located off the city centre of Sarajevo. You have to take either public transport (tram) or taxi (about 5 € to the main bus/railway station, f.e. and a little bit more to the city centre). But it is not a very convinient location if you want just to go out, make a short walk and come back to the hotel.
All in all, I am satisfied with this hotel and I would recommend it. Still, it is not European 5*. If you go to Sarajevo for a vacation or for a short city-break, you can use the hotels which are located much much closer to the Old Town and cost half price.

“This is a bizarre hotel, but worth it for the wierd factor”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Big clean, luxurious rooms, and stunning views from the revolving restaurant. The weird bit came when from a fire escape at the other end of the restaurant the door popped open and a guy took a picture of me with a telephoto lens. Great times.

“Average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We arrived around 19:00 PM, no bellboy or anybody at the door of the hotel to help with luggage. The entrance to the hotel is huge so we were looking around to see where the reception is. We checked in quickly, no hussle.
The room is big, and even we booked a double room, we had only one set of towels and one bathrobe. We did ask at the front office to provide us with extra towels and bathrobe as we were planning to use SPA, but this never happened.
SPA is nice, large pool and sauna and few more facilities. There is nobody at the SPA entrance to book treatments or give you direction or towels, so we went to the hotel front office to get the locker key and a towel. The lady that was working just finished her shift so she went swimming and relaxing by the pool.
We waitied for another lady for 30 min to book some treatments, those were ok.
The restaurant upstairs has a nice view and its rotating, but it is really nothing special. The service is poor (had to ask for menus a couple of times, no reccomendations, even no basic knowledge of the menu items).
Breakfast is really basic, even juice only replaced upon request.
All in all, the hotel is not bad but it is not a five star hotel where you would feel comfy and pampered. But as we got a good price, am all in all pretty satisfied.
Also, the location of the hotel is at the entrance to the city so to go anywhere you need a taxi, but they arrive in few minutes and are relly cheap in Sarajevo.

Room Tip: Get a room on the corner, they are a bit bigger and have a much larger wardrobe space

“Worst hotel I ever stayed in”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Reservation I made 10 days before directly at the reception was never made. When I came to the hotel there was no track of my reservation and I could not stay in room I booked 10 days before because thet side of the hotel was occupied. When we entered the bathroom there was only one torn towel and one bathrobe. When we asked for more towels as we planned to go to the spa, they brought us literally one more towel, torn as well. When we asked for the pool we were told that they just changed the water so ir is cold. It was freezing cold. As for the spa, only one sauna was operational. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was less than average but that was nothing in comparison to the breakfast. It was ridiculous. I can't explain how bad it was. Only few slices of white bread, smelly salami, butter, everything served on white plastic table covered with white cloth with stains. When my husband asked for espresso, he was told that he will have to pay one euro extra. Can you believe that! In five Starr hotel where we paid 130 euro for one night sleepover, the waiter doesn't give you one euro espresso unless you pay one euro beforehand. Service was hotel was so bad that at one point we stopped getting angry and start laughing.

“Nice hotel but rating is way too high”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

This is reasonably priced hotel with HUGE rooms but standards are NOT in any way 5 star. Towels are tiny and bathrooms are basic ( though also huge) and level of decoration not high.
Breakfast is very poor indeed. If you expect 3 star you will not be disappointed. Good Location, helpful staff.
Please note you can smoke everywhere inside the hotel!

Room Tip: Huge but not luxurious. NOT 5 star
