“Very Nice Hotel”

This hotel shows ifs value as soon as you step through the door. We were welcomed with beverages of our choice while we were being checked in. The room was large, clean and comfortable. There are nice common rooms where you can sit ard read a book in a plush leather chair while enjoying a drink from their bar. The included breakfast was a variety of yogurts, cerials and a cooked to order omlete. The hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the old town. The service from the front desk was excellent. We highy recommend this place and would stay here again.

“A great experience”

Great location on a quiet street, but still very close to the old town and the pedestrian street. The service was truly amazing, we were always taken good care of. The tips that the staff gave us concerning restaurants and sights turned out to be magnificent, we would never have found some of the places without their advice. There aren't so many rooms in the hotel, so you can always count on personal service and the receptionists always have time for you.

Like everywhere in Sarajevo, you shouldn't let the building's simple facade fool you. Once you get inside, you'll see a wam interior with loads of stylish antique furniture. And almost needless to say, the rooms really are amazing. The top floor room where we stayed was unbelievably big with a nice bathroom, and thankfully didn't smell of tobacco at all (as pretty much all other buildings in the city did). The breakfast did its job, nothing fancy but still above any hotel average.

One thing that made the stay extremely pleasant was the easy-going athmosphere in the hotel, because even though we were staying in one of the classiest and finest hotels (probably in the whole country) we could always feel relaxed and comfortable. The receptionists didn't treat us like typical 4-5 star hotel guests, they treated us as friends.

“Unique”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

I have just stayed here for three nights (on a business trip) and found the hotel experience totally unique to the conventional branded hotels. The accomodation was clean and the top floor room I stayed in was massive. The hotel has a unique character, its quiet, has friendly staff and it feels safe.

Although in the town, the location is fairly tucked away and you wouldnt know it was there. On the plus side it is only a few minutes walk into the heart of the city so it is ideally located.

From a business perspective there was free wi-fi, however the internet connectivity was intermittent, but that perhaps is an unfair refelction on the hotel and perhaps more to do with the wider infrastructure.

I would certainly return and would be more than happy to bring my family.

Mark.

“WOW! Tons of Unique Eclectic Character”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

Great Hotel Tucked into the Hillside nearby the old quarter of Sarajevo. Fabulous property loaded with antiques and apparently a favorite of Hollywood types who come here for the film festival. We had a beautiful suite at was so spacious ( we were upgraded) you could have got lost in it. The room is nicely furnished with antiques and is very comfortable. A great breakfast is served in a very nice dining room. The hotel was very helpful with directions and suggestions. One slight drawback is that it does require about two blocks of steep up-hill walking from the center which may pose a problem for some. We loved this place.

Room Tip: Get one of the larger rooms - not a bvasic double.

“Great boutique hotel staay in Sarajevo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

Funky looking from outside, a lobby that looks like a classic government office, large wood-finished rooms with all amenties one could ask for, and hotel staff that gave us one good recommendation after another. We stayed at Michele for our two nights in Sarajevo and loved our time there. The staff gave us two great restaurant recommendations (Kibe and Dveri, the first place being outstanding) and sent us to Insider Tours after we asked about another group that has received less enthusiastic reviews. The hotel is situated up a hill that provides good views from the balconies, an easy walk to all the sights in Sarajevo and is a quick cab ride home (or a healthy walk after a heavy dinner!). A great boutique hotel experience with a staff that has great knowledge of Sarajevo.

Only thing that could keep Hotel Michele from getting 5 stars was a) the television not working and b) bathroom being very clean, but not having the most modern fixtures, and c) the beds not being among the most comfortable during our travels through the former Yugoslavia. Neither of the first two items was important to us, but may take away from others' experiences.
