Just returning from Sarajevo where I ended in this hotel after asking for a (constantly ?) fully booked hotel. It seems Astra Garni (as well as Astra) belong to the same management with Europe Hotel Sarajevo.
The fact that Astra Garni was the only one with available room did not at all harm me. in the center of the historical part of Sarajevo, in about 150 meters distance from Europe Hotel and,most important, very close to my business.
I received a huge suite (two rooms) in the second floor clean and comfortable. in Balkans week end evenings and nights in the centre of a city risk to be noisy. But, in fact, the annoyance was not so big.
The staff was friendly and serviceable and the buffet breakfast one of the best and richest in this price category!

I just returned from my Sarajevo trip. Stayed at Astra Garni. It is in Bascarsija very close to the base mosque. Clean rooms friendly staff and very good breakfast. Breakfast is especially beyond your expectations from a European Country.

This hotel is in the center of everything. Unfortunately, this means my first floor room sounds like I'm having a party. If you stay in this little hotel DO NOT STAY ON THE FIRST FLOOR. Not only is the street noise a serious problem, there is also no air conditioning control. It's the middle of summer and there's no way to change the room temp.

The folks at the front desk are very nice and offered to move me to a different room but I'm here with a group and I have no clue when my roommate is returning so I'm stuck.

The breakfast is okay. It is in the basement but I don't see that as a problem. It's got your usual selection of continental foods.

The location is, as I stated, right in the middle of everything. This is great if you're going to be out late, but I have an early morning tomorrow and the combination of the hot room and the noise isn't going to make it easy.

I stayed here for one night on a tour. My room was on the ground floor, it had a gloomy seating area and tiny bathroom with a wet floor. The only window was up near the ceiling and to close it my husband had to stand on a table. The twin beds were on a mezzanine floor, clean and spacious but there were no curtains on the window to keep out the street light, only a floor-to-ceiling drab net curtain which made the room look cheerless.
There was no bar. Dinner was a set meal ( they may not do dinners normally) and there was much adverse comment. For dessert we were each handed a banana, unripe and not even on a plate.
Luckily we all had a sense of humour. The buffet- style breakfast was fine.
This hotel would be OK for students on a budget.
