My husband, mother and I stayed here for 3 nights.
Hotel Hecco was extremely clean, pleasant and modern inside. The room for three was a reasonable size. WiFi was accessible and fantastic. Front Desk spoke English; in fact, many people in Sarajevo spoke English. There is no fridge in this hotel and is something we needed. There is no elevator and it does have four levels. We didn’t have much luggage and therefore not an issue for us. I imagine it would be quite a haul if you have suitcases.
This hotel is in the old town and I had read other reviews that noted the climb up hill was difficult. It is a steep climb but it’s worth it for the hotel. If you do it slowly it isn’t a problem. We found it more difficult due to locals all over the city parking on footpaths and therefore it is difficult to walk when you have to walk on the road and dodge cars.
Hotel price included breakfast which consisted of meats, boiled eggs, cereals, fruit, vegetable, breads, etc and was great. It always appeared fresh and well presented. Coffee and a variety of teas were available.
Don’t call other countries using the hotel line, it was ridiculously expensive, a 5 min call to Australia cost $50 Bosnian Marks – absurd.
Would stay there again, just wish the barking dog next door could be removed as he barked constantly and when the nearby mosque had sessions on (loud speaker) the dog would howl the entire time.
