“Great Place”

just a few days of staying at the Halvat reminded me of what I used to love about Sarajevo when staying there for extended stays in the beleaguered city almost 20 years ago - it's the people themselves. Valida and Mumo run a place where you can feel home as soon as you checked in. Today the amenities are included - running water (hot), heating (too much of it, but you can open the windows :-) ) and a great breakfast ! The room we had was nice and clean, wired internet and wireless are both available, brand new large screen TV (my son liked it!).
The guest house is practically located at the heart of the old town of Sarajevo. You don't need a car for the city, everything is close by . . . for skiing in Jahornina it's a 30 min drive. I'd recommend this to anyone!

“the real Sarajevo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Our first trip to Bosnia and the ladies at the Halvat made us feel welcome.
It was very well located for the old-town and centre of Sarajevo. We visited in mid winter, so definitely off-season but that was no problem; there was always someone there for our queries and for our personalised breakfasts.
The room was more basic than a big hotel and was overheated despite the snow outside but it was really pretty comfortable overall. I couldn't find a wifi signal but there was a cable on the desk and I had reliable internet there.
One reason for going with a guesthouse was to get a feel for the local ethos and a bit of first-hand on Sarajevo's recent past. I think it is important to really get "into" this city and being at the Halvat, with real people, contributed to this.

You would definitely feel at home once you enter this beautiful and warm B&B in Sarajevo.the best breakfast i've had from any B&B. Very friendly hosts and excellent chefs- Valida and Mumo who are also excellent tour guides.

“A very nice and friendly place to stay in beautiful Sarajevo”

I can only recommed Halvat for their nice and warm welcome, the quality of their rooms and their large and tasty breakfast.
They also offer a broad range fo services, for example taking you to/from the central bus station, which is very helpful.
Halvat is located close to the old town to which you can walk in a couple of minutes.
