Not so bad place for such small money! Room was so spacious, so you could do exercises there!
It's just 10 minutes to the State library (where you can see the view of the city) and metro station (Ushod).
Only one disappointment: one of the staff was not polite when we arrived. But for such money it's nothing to complain about.

“cheap, soviet-style hotel in a quiet area”

+ luxe room was spacious and modern with all the necessary and even unnecessary amenities (like a garlic press - who could ever use it in a hotel room?)
+ quiet area, 10 minutes ride from the center

- housekeeping was absent for three days (I'm not sure it exists)
- bar and restaurant are a joke
- bad water pressure in the shower cabin

Overall, adequate for what you pay (50$ for the best room - very cheap for Minsk).
