First time in Minsk, stayed at Orbita for 8 nights.
The homepage seemed very impressive and i had a lot of expectations to the hotel.
To start with the lobby and reseption, it was quite good.
The breakfast had good selection of food and quite good although the coffee machine was on a strike and like every other hotels in east europe, electricity is something you don`t waste so it was quite dark in the hotel.
The rooms was not very impressive and it had a very distinktive smell of cigarettes and closed in air.The bathroom was ok standard, but the toilets didn`t flush very well.
The staff was pretty much helpful and they had a ok english level.

I didnt like smell of sigarets in the and room at all. After i said that i will not stay here-the girl-cleaner start blaim on me that i stole carpet from the bathroom. She was demanding 10 euro, and after i called administration saddenly she found it. I dont remember her name, but she was around 28-33 years old and with yelllow hair.

We booked this hotel after we read good reviews on Russian travel site. I must admit that the price was good for expected quality.
Good and various breakfasts, helpful stuff.
When you enter the hotel you see a nice and modern lobby and reception desk which contrast with old soviet outside view. But standard double room most likely will disappoint you because it is nothing special.
Room is clean. Bathroom is worse: bathroom equipment looks like it was 15 years ago, wretched curtain doesn't save so after you take a shower all water will be on the floor. I found a few long woman's hair in our bad (new bedclothes!) that, of course, didn't give pleasure for me.
Sleep quality wasn't well because of thin walls and noisy neighbours, so we could hear every talk, but it wasn't hotel's fault.
And one more minus is hotel's location. In spite of underground closeness it takes 20-25 minutes to get to the city center.

We stayed here as part of Contiki. It was a pleasant hotel for our one night stay. The rooms was decent, but the dinner was dodgy. It was some type of Chicken Kiev which was still pink.
Stay away!

There was a good supermarket next door and Mc Donald's was across the street for your convenience.Be forewarned: the beds are hard, and the sheer curtains let in all light, which makes sleeping more difficult. We couldn't have slept without "chemical enhancement" (sleeping aids such as anti-histamine). Our friends had rooms on the east-facing street side, and the morning sun is a brutal wake-up force. Our room faced the back of the hotel, which was quieter, but the afternoon sun was so strong my husband had to put on his brimmed hat in order to sit at the desk and use his computer! After several nights we pulled a blanket from the duvet cover and hung it in the window to block out the light.

Also be warned that the rooms do not have a clock or a hair dryer. We were, however, surprised and delighted by the excellent strength of the water pressure in the shower.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel, just watch out for the Lady's of the Night outside in the parking lot.
