The hotel was outside an underground shopping mall (you could see the glass dome roof in the square/park). The escalators take you 3 levels underground and it was a very modern complex.

Our room was pretty dark and gloomy with a hard bed but it was only for one night. The bathroom was fine. The Business Centre charges for the Internet was 11,100BR for 20mins.

The tour's dinner in the Dining Room was disappointing - we were served a salad, then chips and something that looked like crumbed chicken (but wasn't) followed by ice-cream. We were given complimentary champagne (or vodka) for dinner though and they had the dining room beautifully presented whilst a pianist, violinist and singer serenaded us for about half-an-hour.

Breakfast was a weird selection and almost inedible - there were “egg squares” which tasted like egg custard. I think toast and jam was our "safest" choice :)

The staff were so welcoming that they checked us in early without any surcharge. The rooms are great, the breakfast too.. I was very impressed when checking out, some weirdo was making comments about me and my boyfriend of 4 years, and the receptionist got security to get him cool down and leave. You don't expect that in a homophobic country of Belarus (not the people, but the authority). Recommend it!

The hotel is well located in the main street of Minsk close to the shopping area and public transport. In a Soviet sort of way it has its charms. But the rooms are small and the facilities very average. Breakfast is laughable.

After hearing how bad things are in Belarus, we were pleasantly surprised at how well dressed and fashionable people were. The road into the city showed a very nice countryside with much nicer country houses than in Russia. The city is super clean and the apartment blocks in much better shape than in Russia. The hotel is next to a very expensive shopping mall with regular merchandise. It makes you wander how can people afford it since their pay is supposed to be so low? It is a very paradoxical place. The hotel is old but in good shape. The breakfast and lunch were not great but eatable. We were here only one night so it was nice to be centrally located. They had free internet but our laptop only worked in the lobby area for some reason.
