“Best place to stay in the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

Travelled to Minsk for business, and Crowne Plaza is definitely the place to stay (Hotel Minsk where I stayed before is far not that good). The hotel is in a very city centre and very convenient for nearly any place around. The rooms are great, new spacious and clean, although the decor is slightly too excessive in my personal opinion. Very good bathroom. Great breakfast. The restaurants at the hotel are at the highest level, very recommendable. they have several conference rooms on the top floor. We were given one of a size of a ballroom, which was very strange when you have a meeting for only 10 people.

The only negative I can think of (or rather of a warning) - there are several night clubs and a casino on site. So do expect some party crowds in there. But on the contrary to another places I have stayed at in Minsk, this one has good sound proofing.

“Nice Hotel - Good location - But Expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

This was my first trip to Belarus. Minsk doesnt have many world class hotels, and this is one of the few hotels that had a name that was recognizable. The hotel is located close to the city centre (the parliament buildings) and near some of the large corporate headquarters. Location is excellent.

The hotel is relatively new, and the rooms are very well done up - with tons of amenities (heated floors in the bathrooms helped alot in the sometimes frigid weather).

The hotel is home to one of the most vibrant night clubs, and this can be a bit distracting - come night time the place is jam packed with young (and old) who are there only to party. This makes for a tough scene to have a business meeting or conduct business.

The restaurants on site are world class - expect something comparable to what you would find in any other international city. The rates are cheap (at the time of writing, the Belarus Ruble had recently been devalued, and so it was very cheap...but who knows what will happen in the near to mid term).

The staff are very helpful, and the concierge went out of her way to save me a few dollars/euros, and booked a cab that wasnt a rip off.

The hallways can be long and a bit dark (they need some more light), and so this place can be a bit intimidating...the hotel needs to consider adding some more light in the hallways.

Room Tip: Ask for non-smoking...and close to the elevator. The halls arent so well lit, and can be a bit of a...

“Full of life”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011 via mobile

This hotel actualy is one of the best hotels in Minsk, the sweetest.
I was there in buisness trip and after a full working day what a pleasant, clean, warm and quite room is waiting for you to have a deep sleep. At night ( if you are interrested, the Next night club is at the 2nd floor to shake all night or just sit at the loby cafeteria/ bar and enjoy the beauty seeing !!!
Walkable distances to that big under ground shopping mall or the scattered shops at the avenue behind the hotel from where you can buy anything you need. Food and restaurants is not a problem, many available inside the hotel and around it. Minsk I guess is the best place to eat in, they have great cooks!!
Tip. Avoid a room near the elevator, it is noisy.
And select one with a window facing east, open it for early fresh a romatic breez in the morning.

“Not up to chain standards”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

I heve been recently twice to this hotel. The rooms are similar to other Crown properties but the consistency stops there. The shower has just two posibilities boiling water or completely cold. TV has mostly turkish and arabic chains. I ordered a club sandwich in the room and it was cold and stuffed with unknown products. They also charged me almost 5 Euros for 2 cl of mayonaise not included in the sandwich price. Same service at the cafeteria including poor lighting and turkish males looking for girls. When you pay, your Euro bill is transformed to bielorussian roubles at a different rate and the result is a 20 % unjustified increase in your bill. I wonder why Six Continets accept such approach from their franchises. In the other hand the swimming pool and whirlpool are excellent. The Europa Hotel in Minsk is another choice that I will try next time.

Room Tip: Avoid street rooms due to the casino bright adds on facade that could spoil your sleep.

“Take a walk close to the wild side”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

I think many previous reviewers have captured the essence of this place well. Somewhat expensive, but you can get by in English. Obviously some dubious goings on in the attached club. THe hotel staff in the bar abnd restaurant seem to be tireless in trying to upsell to more expensive items, and cheaper options disappear. For example I asked for local wine (because I like to try out local stuff when I visit a place). I was given one glass and told they had run out. When I said I would do without instead of ordering French wine at 4 times the price, they mysteriously "found" another local bottle.

Actually based on my rule of thumb to go with the country's speciality you are probably better off with the vodka!

Room Tip: Far away from the club!

Dear Guest,
Thank you for review.
All comments are taken seriously and shared with our hotel staff, to help us improve our service. We do apologize for the inconvenience caused by restaurant and bar.
We have investigated this situation, the bar staff did it without purpose. They checked another wine and found from another outlet.
We apologize again for such situation. We hope to have a pleasure of serving you again in future.
