I did have concerns at what we might find at the Ferari but these were allayed as soon as we checked-in. This is a pleasant Hotel, nothing outstanding, but one that would be comfortable enough for a short stay in Tirana. The staff, particulary those in the bar and restaurant, were friendly and helpful to a fault.
Our double room was basic but comfortable and surprisingly large. A standard breakfast buffet is available - not outstanding but more than adequate. Extra points for having small (hot) omelettes available as one of the choices.
Location is an issue - it's at least a 20-25 minute walk from the centre of town. Not a particularly pleasant walk either - you'll be dodging cars, poorly maintained footpaths and massive construction sites (as anyone who has been to Tirana recently could attest) all along the way.
As we weren't keen to have to find our way back in the dark we returned to the Hotel in the early evening. As a result we decided to have dinner at the Hotel and were blown away by the quality of the simple grilled fish and greek salad that we ordered. A very nice surprise to say the least. In the area immediately around the Hotel are a number of small shops where fruit, ice cream and other items are available. The Hotel bar area is also a pleasant place to have a quiet drink.
