I stayed there a couple of times when I was working in Prishtina since it was clean and it had AC. Every time I went there I paid different price. They have a funny way of asking for payment in the currency that's most valuable whether it's in Euros or Dollars. Last time I went there it was three of us. I asked how much before we took the suitcases off the taxi - highly recomend getting a price before you do anything in Albania. They gave us the price in euros but I said how much in Lek for one room fro three people. I think we paid about 6,000 or about $60 for the night. The room was relatively clean. The beds were very uncomfortable especially the portable bed they wheeled in the room. breakfast is supposed to be included and I left a 500 or about $5 tip just for the hell of it- that's how we do it in america. We went back a couple of days later and asked for the same room. they guy said that we would have to get two rooms because that one was not available - mind you all the keys behind were present meaning they had nobody staying at the hotel and all the rooms were empty. I asked for the room and the bed and we would set it ourselvs. the front desk person said that the person is not here to take out the bed and as we were about to leave he was like ok ok. The problem was that he realized we were americans the last time but only after we negotiated a price. I felt uncofortable staying there but it was going to be only for a couple of hours since we would have to be at the airport at about 4 in the morning. When we left we asked for some watter and the guy shamelessly charged us eventhough we refused any breakfast already included in the price of the room. I would have left about $5 or 500 lek as a tip since I had some albanian money left over and I don't plan to go back there in a long time to come but instead I asked for the change and left an unusually large tip to this cab driver who did not try to haggle with the price i offered to go to the airport. On the way to the airport he said that business in albania is today for tomorrow. nobody cares what that customer will do after that. He was an unusually easygoing albanian. Anyways from that day on I decided I'll never stay at stela's again since they used every chance to rip me off and the hotel is pretty [-----)for the money you pay.
