Ambasador Hotel & Tavern is a quiet and clean budget hotel situated not far from the centre of Tirana. Bar, restaurant, air condition, duble rooms from 3000 Lek. So far so god. The problem wih this place, and I'm very sad to have to say this, is the dishonest manager and portier. The day of our leaving they refused to give us our passports back if we didn't pay for a night that we already had payed for. We argued for a long time, and many hard words was spoken (in albanian, italian and english) but beacuse we had a plane to cath, in the end we had to pay. I have stayed in many hotels in many countries but this was the first time ever that I have been confronted wiht a situation like this. How can a hotel manager humiliate himself like this only for a few tousand Lek? Unbelivable. This experience almost ruined our whole stay in Albania. Our albanian friend, witch had invited us to Albania an had recomended this hotel, was so sad, and they were so ashamed over this occurrence.

I have stayed at this hotel several times, because of the price. Hotels in Tirana are ridiculously overpriced. This hotel is adequate, but there is no way it should be rated 3 1/2 stars. Any Motel 6 in the US would beat it hands down. Maybe 2 Stars in more like it The staff are friendly, and the location is convienent. I am not sure if it is still going on, but there was major construction taken place right beside the hotel, so it was very noisy. Also it is almost impossible to find a place to park your car. The hotel has no reserved parking places.

rooms,sheets and the covers are very clean and tidy.

rooms are getting cleaned everyday.

you find more than you expected from a three star hotel.
