The hotel website presents it as luxurious, but it isn't really. The vaunted "parquet", for example, isn't what you and I would think of when we say "parquet", but that pale, thin layer stuff a bit like lino that bends when you walk on it, and the wooden furniture in the rooms is mostly cheap bambooo that you can't sit in comfortably. Generally, the aim seems to be to look good - and hence those that start off at 6.30 in the morning, banging doors and going up and down in the lifts all morning even when there are hardly any guests, or the entrance that's set too close to the street to allow you to use it properly - rather than to be good. No bath, in my own room anyway. Staff so-so - many obviously just girls filling in until they get a better job - with no real responsibility (e.g. to open the inside bar when it's raining). The only good thing about the hotel is the food in the restaurant, which is excellent - but to get to the table you have to navigate a labyrinth of tables and unnecessary and pointless water-channels. The hotel needs a) a good archtitect to redesign the lot, and b) a really good manager, with experience and clout.

Business brought me to Albania twice in the summer of 2007-June and now August. I stayed at this hotel 2 weeks the first trip and 1 week the second. WOW. You must come here.

I could have stayed at the Sheraton but why? I know it will be like any other US hotel chain-- expensive and cold but of course ...
This hotel is 1)friendly with a staff who knows your name 2)Smaller think of it more like a bed and breakfast but it is clearly a hotel 3)Great rooms---very clean, free WIFI, tile bath with all you want,
4)The cleanest hotel I have stayed in virtually all over the world--spotless
5)Cool decor of art and artifacts from the owner. He is also a Chef and just opened a new terrace resturant on the 4th floor complete with girgling water. You can also through glass windows see them create some wonderful meals for under $20!!!

The Hotel President and its staff were quite a surprise... Yhe hotel was the cleanest I've ever seen, with cleaning people working until midnight. Spotless. The room was modern, bed very comfortable,desk and internet access...Bathroom. plenty of hot water, all tile and colorful..The Hotel's restaurant may have the finest food in Tirana with excekkent service from multi-lingual staff. The restaurant's manager was the most hostpitable women U have ever meet. The front desk is extremely helpful with all kinds of info and tips and safety was never a concern...The hotels bar was a joyful places a favorite with many expat's> All in all this is the place to stay if you are in Tirana without a doubt..The owners are on site to make sure the service and comfort of guests is provided..thanks Hotel President.
